About Backchannels

We’re not here to build another “largest database in the world.”

The world already has plenty of those - and most are full of contacts no one should be contacting anymore. Backchannels is built for teams who care about outcomes: verified buyers, cleaner targeting, and real conversion.

Precision over volume Verified buyers Built for modern GTM
The uncomfortable truth

The contact data industry has a dirty secret.

It optimizes for volume, not outcomes.

“Bigger numbers” look great on pitch decks, pricing pages, and demos - but not in conversion rates.

Massive datasets decay fast. Stale contacts and outdated roles quietly tax every outbound motion.

Teams end up building bigger haystacks when what they really need is sharper needles.

We learned that the hard way - and wasted enough time with spray and pray to know: more data isn’t the answer.

(Add visual later: “volume vs outcomes” / buyer-quality vs conversion)
The founder story

This company started out of frustration, not an idea brainstorm.

We used the same tools everyone else used - and outbound still felt like a gamble.

It’s a numbers game.

What we were told - again and again.

So we bought more and more data.

We added more filters. More workflows. More “AI-powered” steps.

And yet the results stayed inconsistent - because accuracy was the real bottleneck.

The pitch sounded clean. The outcomes weren’t.
What we actually got

Wrong contacts

People we guessed were decision-makers

Numerous hours wasted

We weren’t failing because we didn’t have enough data. We were failing because we were chasing instead of getting to the right sources.

At some point we stopped asking how many contacts we had and started asking:“Would I personally bet my reputation on this contact being the right person?”98% of the time, the answer was no.

That’s when we decided to stop complaining and build something better.

What we’re building instead

A contact platform for teams done pretending quantity equals quality.

If a contact can’t earn its place, it doesn’t make the cut.

Verified buyers & decision-makers

Real stakeholders inside target accounts - not endless lists of “maybe” contacts.

Data you can trust

Continuous verification and quality checks, not one-time enrichment that decays.

Fewer records, more value

Every record is worth outreach - with context that improves conversion.

Outcome-driven by design

Built to improve meetings booked and pipeline, not vanity metrics.

Our point of view

Modern teams don’t need bigger haystacks - they need sharper needles.

Take it or leave it. This is how we build.

More data ≠ better data

The “largest database” race optimizes for counting records, not for helping you convert.

If you need 500 contacts…

…to get a single meaningful outcome, the problem isn’t effort - it’s targeting and data quality.

Contact database 3.0

We’re replacing the legacy mindset: precision wins - and it compounds over time.

Who this is for (and who it isn’t)

Built for teams that value precision over excess.

If scale is your only strategy, this probably isn’t for you.

This is for

Sales teams who care about selling to real buyers - not spray and pray at ICP accounts.

Marketers tired of enriching huge lists instead of running high-converting campaigns.

Ops pros who want verified buyers on top of intent - and data that holds up inside the CRM.

This is not for

Spray-and-pray outbound

Vanity metrics

Teams who think scale fixes bad targeting

If you win by volume, you’ll keep paying the hidden costs of bad data.
The mission

The future of go-to-market belongs to teams who value precision over excess

We’re here to prove that less data - when it’s right - beats more data every single time. Come join the contact database 3.0 movement.

What you can expect

Buyers you can trust - not contacts you hope are right.

Continuous verification and high-signal context.

A platform built for modern Sales, Marketing, and Ops.

Less noise. More pipeline.
